A time to widen my horizons

Love is not about looking into each other eyes, it is about looking out in the same direction. I am rather fond of this set of photos I took when Martin and I escaped to north east one weekend. It was one of those last minute things that turned out beautiful in the end. Martin was going to be up for two different volleyball matches so that made the decision to go an easy one. We pulled in plenty of shopping, trips to beaches and of course Fish and Chips! It helps it is an area of the world we have been to before so we knew where we wanted to stay, where we wanted to revisit and where we wanted to finally get to. There is something special about being by the sea that lifts my spirits so much and I don't think I am alone in that. So now I need to find ways to build in more time away.

A first journal page

Not a very regular blogger am I? I am starting to challenge what I do on the creative front, I have thought for a while that art journalling would be helpful to me, I have written journals for many years and have lots of books filled with scribbling, my thoughts pouring out it has been a healing process for me, so I am not sure how much of my art journalling I will share. But I have bought journals and created covers and started altered books. I must be commitment phobic as I haven't been able to make a start on any of them. I did think that using a file type journal would be helpful for me, so I didn't have to worry about chronology or worry that my pages were good enough, but still no pages done. So this week I decided I just need to make one page, and then another, like any journey it begins with a single step or single page. Meeting Eileen

Please don't laugh at how rarely I write this blog, Here is a post I wrote a while ago and forgot to publish! I don't have a lot of time and what blogging time I have I tend to focus on the company blog. However this is my little space where I can blog my own stuff. This was me writing after having just done 5 workshops in 8 days I have lots of work to share. I am starting with meeting Eileen Godwin. Eileen is a great tutor but as she lives in Kent we have never met except on Facebook. We have swapped messages and she has been a guest blogger for Oak House Studio, she has borrowed stamps and bought inks from me. It was marvellous to actually meet her. She is a great hugger and a brilliant tutor too.
